Stay-at-Home vs. Working Moms

I have written on this topic before but something happened to me recently that made me feel the need to repost. There seems to be a constant fight between moms, stay-at-home and ones that work, why is that? Shouldn't we all support one another..

I started to think about an old friend of my, well she isn't really a friend anymore, I work full time, take care of the house, have two amazing children and am very happy. You would think she would be happy for me, truthfully, she isn't...

She always makes comments about the fact that I work..comments like..doesn't it bother you that someone else is raising your children. I don't believe my children are being raised by anyone but Jeff and I..and they are happy, awesome kids!

I think that mom's have enough issues to deal with ad should stay out of each others business..stop criticizing each other and just support...

Everyone needs help..no matter if they work or not, it is about how you treat your children and if they are happy. Let me tell everyone, my kids are happy and yes I do work full time...

I have been on both sides of the fence...either one is hard and the grass is only greener on the other side. You are right, as long as your kids are happy and you are happy, the hell with everyone's rude opinions. Some people are just jealous that you can manage it all, the house, the kids and a high profile job! Those lame ass mommy's group know-it-alls need to look at their own lives and realize why they are so unhappy that they have to criticize those who have it together!

I've also done both. Both are super hard and equally rewarding. I'm at home now and frankly, I miss working sometimes.

I also love the experience my daughter had at daycare. It was really diverse and she learned a lot more than I would have been able to teach her in those years. (And to be selfish, she was so into watching the other kids use the potty that she was trained in a day before she was 2. And our relationship wasn't sabotaged because someone else taught her things.)

I was amazed to find how judgmental many women become after giving birth. It's like they push out a baby and suddenly have a right to tell strangers how to raise their kids. (Meanwhile their own are tearing apart a coffee display at Starbucks.)

Hmmm...so short story long, I totally agree with your posting!

I'v done both also right now I'm a home mom. It's hard @ home you are around children 24/7 when you work even part time you get some adult time I feel that its a double edged sward. Life is all about balance and not about what "Miss Perfect Mom"
thinks, maybe she has no other skills so she need metaphorically snub her nose at others who do it all.
I wish I was the type who could work full time and take care of my family...I'm jealous of those who can pull that off.
Keep up the great Balancing act others wish they had the energy to pull off!!!!
